Sunday World Top sites for Irish Campers

 
We are delighted to be listed in the Sunday World’s Top Sites for Irish Campers on 14 Aug 2011. Camping has made a huge comeback this year and we have welcomed so many new families to the park this summer. Click on the photo above to see their Top 10 list, we are the only Kerry park to make the list which is a huge honour for us as Kerry has more Caravan parks than any other county in Ireland.

Tralee Garden Festival is taking place next weekend (Fri 17th – Sun 19th June) in the town park across the road from our park. There is something for everyone from cookery demonstrations to puppet shows, flower arranging, street entertainment, jazz in the park, vintage cars, fancy dress competitions and a dog show. Lasts years festival was a great success so we are really looking forward to everything that is planned for this year. Hope to see a few of you down here for it, we are only a few minutes stroll from the heart of the action!

As you climb the grassy wilderness of Mount Brandon you are surrounded by spectacular views of azure blue waters, golden sandy beaches and lush green countryside in every direction. On the trail to the top you hike past tranquil lakes with fluffy sheep gently grazing nearby, oblivious to the beauty of their surroundings. Turning around to admire the view you follow the tide as it lazily makes it way out of the bay far below. A few cheerful yachts bob up and down in the distance, their white sails glinting in the sun. Having made it to the top, if you are not already breathless from the final rocky scramble, the splendour of Tralee bay laid out beneath you will certainly take your breath away. With the salty Atlantic wind whipping at your face you hope to catch a glimpse of steep cliffs giving way to the open waters. Next stop America! Descending the rugged mountain, the cry of seagulls tells you you’re nearly home. The satisfying ache in your legs reminding you of what you achieved. You will never forget your first climb of Mount Brandon.

With the sun shining in Tralee all weekend it was a pleasure to kick start the summer season with lots of you joining us for St. Patricks Day. The park was awash with green, hats, flags, shamrocks and there was a great buzz around the place. Hope to see lots of you again for Easter next month or even before!
