Family Activities

There is so much to do in Tralee and the surrounding areas that we have made some suggestions to keep the kids occupied, whatever the weather…

Day 1, Aqua Dome: (kids of all ages, rainy day activity)

Buy your discounted entrance to the nearby Aqua Dome at our park and have a splashing good time. Swim with the current, Surf the Waves, Wrestle the River Rapids, Relax in the Lazy River, Ride the Sky High Flume, Plunge down the Outdoor Falling Rapids and Enjoy the Whirlpool spas, Bubble seat, Sprays, Cannons, Gushers, Geysers, Children’s pools, Spa pools. You will easily keep the kids entertained for a few hours whether it rains or shines. The Aqua Golf is located alongside the Aqua Dome and consists of an exciting 18 hole mini-golf course which is great fun for all the family and can be enjoyed by young and old alike.

Day 2, Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre: (kids of all ages)

Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre just a few hundred meters from our caravan parkVisit the brand new Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre where you can visit the activites lake with water bikes, pedalos and a learn to fish pond and also visit the eco park where you can go birdwatching, go on a safari boat trip or visit the viewing tower for a spectacular 360 view of the town and nearby Tralee Bay. Its a great addition to our town and it is located just a few hundred metres from our park with access along the river walk.

Day 3, Kerry County Museum: (kids of all ages, rainy day activity)

Visit the Kerry County Museum and go back in time to the Geraldine period. Its very family friendly and great value for money. In the afternoon you could take in a movie at the Omniplex Cinema beside us or discover Tralee Town Park which has a huge playground and Ireland’s biggest Rose Garden.

Day 4, Crag Cave: (kids of all ages, rainy day activity)

Take a drive out to Crag Cave and visit Irelands most exciting showcave. Afterwards you can let them loose in the Crazy Cave, a big indoor play area with slides, climbing frames, big ball pools etc.

Day 5, Dingle Oceanworld: (kids of all ages, rainy day activity)

Visit the beautiful fishing village of Dingle which is about a 40min drive over the beautiful Connor Pass, the highest Mountain Pass in Ireland. Take a boat ride out to see Fungi the Dolphin or

Spend some time at the wonderful Dingle Oceanworld which has Irelands largest collection of sharks and a fantastic new Polar experience complete with Penguins, or for the more active children visit Play at Height, a huge indoor climbing centre for the novice rock climbers to the very advanced. On a fine day their outdoor zip wire course will thrill the adventure seekers.

Day 6, Fenit Pier & Beach: (kids of all ages)

When the sun shines why not visit the nearby fishing village of Fenit which has Irelands 2nd longest pier, ideal for fishing, or take a boat ride out to the lighthouse. There is also a state of the art playground beside the sheltered blue flag beach which is ideal for swimming, building sandcastles and skimming stones. Fenit really is the best kept secret of North Kerry.

Day 7, Killarney: (ages 6 and above)

Take a drive to Killarney and visit Mucross House and Gardens where you can get a ride in a Horse drawn carriage or let the kids loose in the park where there are plenty of hidden trails to be explored. Take your bikes and cycle around the Lakes of Killarney, or visit the beautiful Torc Waterfall.

Day 8, Surfing & swimming: (kids of all ages)

Take a drive to one of our many golden sandy beaches, Banna Beach, Inch Strand or Castlegregory. Besides running around, digging in the sand and swimming there is windsurfing, surf schools, sea kayaking and even water trampolines and banana boats.

Night-time Entertainment:

Tralee Greyhound Stadium near our Caravan parkA visit to the Kingdom Greyhound stadium is a must for families. It starts at 7.30pm and is over by 10pm. The minimum bet per race is €2 so the kids can have lots of fun choosing which Greyhounds they want win. Dinner is also available here with a special Children’s menu.

The nearby Bowling Buddies is a great family friendly bowling alley which is open in the evenings. With arcade games and a cafe onsite it has every ingredient for a great night out with the kids.

The cinema is located right beside us so you can always round up the family and have a movie night.
