There is so much to do in Tralee and the surrounding areas that we have made some suggestions to keep the kids occupied, whatever the weather…

Aqua Dome : (kids of all ages, rainy day activity)

Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre: (kids of all ages)

Visit the activities lake with canoes,  pedalos and water Zorbs  or also visit the eco park where you can go birdwatching, go on a safari boat trip or visit the viewing tower for a spectacular 360 view of the town and nearby Tralee Bay. Its a great addition to our town and it is located just a few hundred metres from our park with access along the river walk. Its also a brilliant spot for lunch or coffee.

Kerry County Museum: (kids of all ages, rainy day activity)

An award winning museum which is brilliant for kids. Its your chance to explore the hidden archaeology of medieval Tralee. In this new interactive gallery children can dig up a skeleton, inspect a rotten tooth and investigate the death of a medieval murder victim. Crag Cave: (kids of all ages, rainy day activity)

This excellent cave is great for wet days, take a tour of the caves, see stalagmites and stalactites, explore one of Irelands greatest caves and afterwards let the kids loose inside the Crazy Cave, a great indoor playarea. Highly Recommended.

Dingle Oceanworld: (kids of all ages, rainy day activity)

Visit the beautiful fishing village of Dingle which is about a 40min drive over the beautiful Connor Pass, the highest Mountain Pass in Ireland. Take a boat ride out to see Fungi the Dolphin or

Spend some time at the wonderful Dingle Oceanworld which has Irelands largest collection of sharks and a fantastic new Polar experience complete with Penguins, or for the more active children visit Play at Height, a huge indoor climbing centre for the novice rock climbers to the very advanced. On a fine day their outdoor zip wire course will thrill the adventure seekers.

Park Run & Junior Park Run:

The FREE 5km park run takes place each Saturday morning at 9.30am in Tralee town park which is just across the road from us. There is a great atmosphere there and its lovely to run in the park, surrounded by mature trees. Register at www.parkrun.ie and print out your barcodes to bring with you.

While children are welcome to run the 5km park run, there is a special 2km park run on Sunday mornings at 9.30am. Its great fun and a lovely way for a family to run together. Register at www.parkrun.ie and print out your barcodes to bring with you.

Fenit Pier & Beach: (kids of all ages)

When the sun shines why not visit the nearby fishing village of Fenit which has Irelands 2nd longest pier, ideal for fishing, or take a boat ride out to the lighthouse. There is also a state of the art Fenit Beach just 20mins from our Caravan Parkplayground beside the sheltered blue flag beach which is ideal for swimming, building sandcastles and skimming stones. Fenit really is the best kept secret of North Kerry.

Killarney: (kids of all ages)

Take a drive to Killarney and visit Mucross House and Gardens where you can get a ride in a Horse drawn carriage or let the kids loose in the park where there are plenty of hidden trails to be explored. Take your bikes and cycle around the Lakes of Killarney, or visit the beautiful Torc Waterfall.

Surfing & swimming: (kids of all ages)

Take a drive to one of our many golden sandy beaches, Banna Beach, Inch Strand or Castlegregory. Besides running around, digging in the sand and swimming there is windsurfing, surf schools, sea kayaking and even water trampolines and banana boats.

The Playdium, Tralee is Kerry’s Largest Indoor Kids’ Play Centre. Facilities include Large Kid’s Soft Play Centre, Climbing Frames, Plastic Ball Pools, Indoor Slides, Formula Fun Kiddie’s Go-Karting, Tiny Tot’s Play Area, Café … and a few surprises guaranteed to keep the kids happy and entertained in a safe and secure play environment while you can sip a coffee and relax.

Ballyseedy Woods:

A few minutes drive or cycle from our park brings  you to Ballyseedy Woods. There is a lovely looped walk you can take. It’s short enough for small kids not to get too tired and you will pass lots of streams, bridges, an old castle ruins and some lovely carved wooden benches. Its a lovely way to spend an hour or two. Afterwards you could go to the Ballyseedy Garden centre for lunch, stroll around their lovely shops and let the kids play in the indoor or outdoor play area.

Night-time Entertainment:

Tralee Greyhound Stadium near our Caravan parkA visit to the Kingdom Greyhound stadium is a must for families. It starts at 7.30pm and is over by 10pm. The minimum bet per race is €2 so the kids can have lots of fun choosing which Greyhounds they want win. Dinner is also available here with a special Children’s menu.

The nearby Bowling Buddies is a great family friendly bowling alley which is open in the evenings. With arcade games and a cafe onsite it has every ingredient for a great night out with the kids.

The cinema is located right beside us so you can always round up the family and have a movie night.
